A north-trending beachrock reef separates beaches WA 772 and 773. Tims Thicket beach (WA 773) begins in lee of the reef, initially curving round to the north as a 200 m long protected embayment. The beach continues north of the reef for a total of 2.3 km, with most of the beach exposed to 1 m high waves which surge up a steep reflective beach face, with a few outcrops of beachrock. A track off the end of the Tims Thicket Road reaches the centre of the beach, which is popular for offroad driving, beach fishing and occasional surf on the reefs. It is backed by moderately active dunes extending up to 300 m inland, with a sewerage treatment plant in the dunes.
