Beach WA 873 extends from the small groyne north for 250 m to the beginning of the calcarenite bluffs. It has a central attached reef resulting in a crenulate beach, with waves averaging about 1 m surging up the steep beach face. Additional reefs lie off the beach, which is backed by vegetated dune-draped 10 m high bluffs, then the reserve.
