Waterman Bay beach (WA 855) is a 500 m long beach bordered by 20 m high bluffs (Fig. 4.206), with a lower central section and the West Coast Highway right behind. It is fronted by 50 m wide reefs in the south and along the narrower northern section, with a central 200 m long open water section, free of rocks and reefs, with usually a narrow attached bar. There is a viewing platform off the highway above the centre of the beach. Parking is restricted to the highway and backing streets. During high swell there are breaks over some of the reefs along Waterman, called Gravers or Grabbers.
