Beach WA 1532 is one of the longer beaches along the Ningaloo coast. It starts on the northern side of the 500 m long Daly Hill bluffs and gently curves to the north-northwest, then northwest and finally west-southwest for the final 3 km to Point Cloates, where it terminates (Fig. 4.345). For much of its 15 km it is protected by the extensive barrier reefs located 5-6 km offshore, with waves at the shore averaging 0.3 m or less. The northernmost west-trending section of the beach, called Jane Bay, faces south into Black Rock Passage and does receive higher waves, which as a consequence have deepened the lagoon off this section. Most of the beach is however dominated by a relatively shallow sand and reef-filled lagoon and reflective beach conditions. The entire beach is backed by a mixture of active and vegetated parabolic dunes. They begin as a 1 km wide band in the south where they reach 58 m at Camp Hill, widening to as much as 3 km in the area around Entrance Hill where they reach 74 m, and extend 3.5 km across rear of Point Cloates where they reach 36 m.
