The Fishing Place is a 700 m long beach (WA 650) that extends north from the foreland to a 300 m long granulite point littered with large boulders. The beach is sheltered by inshore reefs with waves averaging about 1 m that surge up a steep reflective to low tide terrace beach. The shoreline has prograded up to 300 m out from the backing bluffs, and is covered with moderately unstable Holocene dunes including a few blowouts. A spur off the Bobs Hollow 4 WD track terminates on the bluffs above the northern end of the beach.
