South of Lighthouse Point is the straight, east facing, 4 km long Three Mile Beach; with a low granite point separating it from the southern 400 m long, north-east facing Roundback Beach. The more extensive 120 m high Three Mile Point forms the southern boundary of the whole system. The only access to these beaches is by boat or along the Mount Margaret Track, which reaches the northern end of Three Mile Beach. The beaches receive waves averaging 1 m and 0.5 m respectively, which produce a single attached and continuous bar. This is only cut by rips during and following high seas.
