At the point the shore turns south and the rocks impound a 50 ha V-shaped area of salt flats and mangroves, which are fronted by the narrow beach NT 1014. The 1 km long beach partially blocks the lagoon as well as continuing on for a few more hundred metres in front of low laterite bluffs. A vehicle track follows the southern side of the lagoon out to the bluffs and along behind beach NT 1015.
