Passmore Creek is located 12 km east of beach Q 16, with beach Q 16A extending west of the creek mouth. In between is a relatively straight section of very low energy predominantly mangrove-fringed shoreline. The beach is 1.8 km long, faces due north and is bordered by mangroves in the west and the 100 m wide mangrove-fringed creek mouth in the east. It is fronted by extensive tidal flats and shoals associated with the creek mouth, and is backed by a 50 m wide vegetated beach ridge, then a 7-8 km wide series of recurved spits and salt flats. There is vehicle access across the salt flats to the eastern end of the beach.
