Beach NT 1443 onlaps the southern end of beach NT 1443, and is an active northward-migrating recurved spit. The entire 8.5 km long beach is part of a migrating barrier island, which is eroding along its southeast end, truncating and exposing older spits, mangroves and tidal creeks, and accreting as recurved spits at its northwest end. The remains of more than 30 recurved spits compose the beach.
