Between Tamboon Inlet and Sydenham Inlet is a straight 11 km long beach. It faces due south and is backed by a narrow field of active dunes, blown along the beach by strong westerly winds. The beach can only be reached by boat across both inlets, or by foot along the coast track. Waves average 1.5 m along the length of the beach. They produce a 50 m wide sandy beach, fronted by a 200 m wide surf zone, containing an attached inner bar that is usually cut by rips every 300 m; with a deep trough separating them from the straighter outer bar.
Beach Length: 11km
General Hazard Rating: 6/10
