Salmon Rocks is on the exposed, west facing side of Cape Conran. It is a small, 50 m long break in the rocks and is the site of the only boat launching ramp in the area. A sealed road runs to the ramp, which is backed by a large car park. The ramp can only be used during low waves and easterly winds, as it is awash under other conditions.
