Tunk Head beach (176) lies immediately east of Tunkalilla Beach. It is a 400 m long sand beach, backed by steep grassy slopes rising over 150 m. It is bordered by jagged rock platforms in the east and a jagged rock reef to the west. The 60 m wide surf zone usually has two permanent rips to either end and one central beach rip.
