Just west of the cove is a 500 m long high tide sand beach (165), also backed, bordered and fronted by rocks and jagged rock reefs, with a more open sandy 80 m long pocket toward the western end. Waves average about 1.5 m and two permanent rips drain the surf zone. This beach is backed by Ralgnal farm and a small rocky creek cross the western end of the beach. Public access is via a foreshore walking track along the grassy bluffs from Petrel Cove.
