Immediately south of Narrow Neck is the 2 km long Southport (Main Beach) section (1591B). The Southport Surf Life Saving Club, founded in 1919, the Southport Nippers Club and a dressing shed lie just off the beginning of The Esplanade. They are fronted by a large car park, a fenced foredune reserve and the beach. The beach, like the entire system, has a rip dominated inner bar and outer bar.
