Hyland Beach (NSW 123) begins on the south side of the dynamic Deep Creek mouth (Fig. 4.63) and curves to the south for 3 km to a low headland and rocks. The first 1 km of beach is a low sand spit backed by the creek. Further south it is backed by a well vegetated 15 m high dune, then Deep Creek and its tributary. The beach receives waves averaging 1.5 m and usually has an attached bar cut by rips the length of the beach. Access is difficult as the beach can only be reached across Deep Creek from Valla, via a footbridge from the Hyland Park caravan park in the centre, or up the beach from Nambucca Heads to the south.
Beach Length: 3km
