Collins Beach (SH 3) is a favourite anchorage for yachts and cruisers. It is backed by a steep well vegetated reserve, part of Sydney Harbour National Park, with street parking to the north of the beach, requiring a walk down to the beach, where there are no facilities. The indented little bay houses the sheltered 70 m long, west-facing beach backed by a 20 m wide flat grassy berm. A small creek drains across the southern end of the beach, hard against the boundary sandstone rocks. It maintains a shallow tidal channel and spreads sand out onto a small tidal delta, which links with sand flats extending 50 m into the bay. The sand flat, require boats to anchor at least 50 m off the beach. The Australian Police Force College overlooks the southern side of the beach.
