Thirty metre high Black Head extends south of the beach for 600 m, with much of Hallidays Point located on its slopes. Pebbly Beach (NSW 193) commences at the eastern tip of Black Head, called Hallidays Point, and trends south for 200 m. It consists of as reflective high tide sand beach backed by a cobble-boulder storm beach and steep 30 m high vegetated bluffs, with rock platforms at either end. It is fronted by near continuous steeply dipping jagged intertidal rocks flats, and bordered in the south by a small rock headland. The Black Head Road runs up over the head and descends to terminate in lee of Diamond Reef beach (NSW 194), also known as Back Beach. There are car parks either end of the 300 m long beach. It curves slightly between Hallidays Point and Diamond Reef, a low rocky reef that extends a few hundred metres offshore. The reef shelters the beach with waves averaging about 1 m, which maintain a usually attached bar. During higher waves topographic rips form against the boundary rocks. A small creek drains across the northern end.
