Number One beach (NSW 216) is located besides the steep incline as you drive into Seal Rocks, with the narrow road wedged in between the beach and the hill. The beach is 1.3 km long and curves round to face the northeast against the southern rocks At the southern end it opens up with a backing valley occupied by the Seal Rocks camping reserve, and a beachfront car park at the southern end in behind the rocks. East of the car park is a detached point, locally called Seal Rocks Point, around which the waves wrap, and where during larger east and southeast swell a reasonable, though full point break is produced. The beach receives considerable protection from the point and waves average 1 m. The waves usually increase up the beach and can produce one or two rips particularly during and following high waves.
