Terrigal Haven is a haven for the Terrigal fishing fleet, a service it has been providing ever since the area was settled in the 19th century. The haven is protected by 20 m high Broken Head and its prominent Skillion, both composed of fossil rich 200 million year old Narrabeen Group sandstones and shales. The 200 m long steep, reflective beach is tucked in between Broken Head and the rocks that separate it from Terrigal Beach. It faces the north to northwest and receives waves averaging less than 0.5 m, low enough for the beach to be used for launching boats. This is a very popular beach for launching boat for fishing, recreation and diving, and is backed by a large car park and oval, together with a kiosk, fishing club and dive charters.
