To the west of Kilcare Beach is 2 km of rocky shore that terminates at Box Head. Halfway along the shore are two small adjoining beaches: Tallows and Little Tallow (NSW 293 & 294), both wedged in at the base of the 100 m high vegetated rocky ridge. They lie entirely within Bouddi National Park and can only be reached on foot, down a 1 km winding walk from the car park at the end of Hawke Head Drive. A walk-in picnic and camping area are provided at Tallow Beach. Tallows Beach (NSW 293) is 500 m long, faces southeast, and run straight between the steep vegetated headlands, with some low dunes behind the beach and a small creek at the northern end. Waves average about 1.3 m and maintain a bar usually cut by two boundary rips against the rock, and a central beach rip. Little Tallows (NSW 294) lies 130 m to the south and is a similar though smaller version of Tallows, being just 100 m in length, and backed by a steep, narrow vegetated valley rising to a 100 m high lookout. Usually one rip drains the small surf zone.
