Wallaga Beach (NSW 619) continues south of the rocks for 3.5 km. It is backed by a vegetated foredune, the 90 ha Bobundara Swamp in the north and the Merriwinga Creek and Wallaga Lake entrance in the south, with the lake entrance hard up against the resilient metamorphic rocks of Murunna Point (Fig. 4.404). Both beaches receive waves averaging 1.5 m and maintain a usually detached single bar, with a longshore trough running between the beach and the bar. Rips cross the bar every 300-400 m, and permanent rips run out against the northern point and Murunna Point, in addition to the channel and tidal flows from Wallaga Lake. The entrance and adjacent Murunna point mark the southern boundary of the Batemans Bay Marine Park.
Beach Length: 3.3km
