Sandys Beach (NSW 93) trends south from the foreland for 1.2 km to 30 m high Bare Bluff, which protrudes 800 m due east. This is one of the nicer beaches along this section of coast. It is well laid out with a shady reserve running the length of the beach, and is patrolled by lifeguards during summer. Up the beach near the two car parks higher waves usually cut four to five rips across the bar, with a permanent rip against the northern rocks. The southern end of the beach receives a moderate degree of protection from Bare Bluff, and Groper Island located 3 km offshore, usually resulting in a continuous bar and waves less than a metre, however there are a few rocks in the surf. A boat launching access is located toward the southern end of the beach. A sand blow from adjacent Fiddamans Beach spills onto the southern corner and provides a sandy access to the neighbouring beach.
Beach Length: 1.2km
