South of the Station Creek rocks and creek mouth is beach (NSW 79) initially faces south in lee of the rocks before trending for 4 km southeast to the Corindi River mouth at Red Rock. The northern end of the beach can be accessed from the Station Creek Rest and Camping Area and a 1 km walk or 4WD. Vehicles are permitted on the beach north of the access point, but not south. This is an exposed beach backed by largely vegetated dunes up to 500 m wide. The entire beach is exposed to most waves producing a double bar system, with rips cutting the inner bar, and more widely spaced rips across the outer bar. A strong permanent rip runs out past the northern reef. During summer the north-easterlies blow offshore at the northern end, making it a destination for surfers. read more
