The Main Beach (NSW 81, also called Red Rock) extends southwest of the headland for 5.2 km to the rocks and reef that interrupt the beach on the north side of the Corindi Beach township. Access is in the north opposite the caravan park and the Red Rock SLSC, a relatively new surf club, formed in 1991, and in the south from Corindi. The beach faces southeast with waves averaging 1.5 m. It has a double bar surf zone, however because of medium to coarse beach sand, the inner bar is often attached to the beach producing a steep, beach face, with widely spaced rips cutting across the rhythmic outer bar. A permanent rip runs out against the northern headland, identified by the prominent red sea stack on the shore platform, and against the rock located in the surf 200 m south of the headland.
