Semi-circular Woody Bay (NSW 36) is located between two prominent sandstone reefs, with two additional reefs in the centre of the 1 km long bay. It faces northeast-north and is protected from southerly waves by Woody Head. This has allowed tall trees to grow to the shoreline, hence the name. Waves are usually low and maintain a shallow bar grading to a steep reflective beach in lee of Woody Head. This is an ideal suitable area for the children, so long as they are supervised and is also a popular boat launching and fishing location. The beach has been experience erosion for the past few decades and many of the tall trees that back the northern section are falling into the sea.
Beach Length: 1.2km
