The Back Beach at Minnie Waters (NSW 68) commences at the southern end of the Tree Point rocks and curves to the south for 2.9 km to the northern rocks of Diggers Camp. The beach is backed by densely vegetated Holocene then Pleistocene dunes rising in places to 50 m, with a small creek occasionally breaking out towards the southern end. It is only accessible on foot from the north and via a rough 4WD access track in the south. It is an exposed rip-dominated double bar system, with up to 10 rips crossing the usually attached inner bar, together with permanent rips against the rocks at each end. A deep trough and rhythmic outer bar occupy the outer surf zone.
