The main Diggers Camp beach (NSW 70) is a 500 m long low gradient, east-northeast-facing sandy beach, which receives some protection from the low, southern rocks that extend 350 m out to sea. The beach usually has an attached continuous bar, however higher waves produce a wide surf zone and will cut one or two rips, with permanent rips against the rocks at either end. In lee of the southern reef is a broad, shallow natural rock pool, which offers more sheltered swimming. There is 4WD access to the beach in the south, with vehicles driving around the rocks to reach the Back Beach (NSW 68).
