Plumbago Beach (NSW 53) is very similar to Caves, extends for 2.8 km south from Plumbago Head to Rocky Point-Red Cliff. It also has scarped Pleistocene dunes and coffeerock along the northern section, with the larger, usually blocked entrance to Lake Arragan towards the south. The beach faces east-southeast which exposes it to waves averaging 1.5 m which maintain a rip-dominated double bar system, together with three permanent rips against both headlands, as well as the reef 200 m south of Plumbago Head. Up to ten or more rips cut across the usually attached inner bar. A car park and camping area is located at the southern end beside the channel, which connects Lake Arragan to the sea.
