Bithry Inlet is a 300 m wide rock-controlled permanent mouth of Wapengo Lagoon, with the shallow 200 ha lagoon trending 4.5 km north of the inlet in lee of the coastal hills. In amongst the rocks on both sides of the inlet are three small beaches (NSW 648-650) (Fig. 4.414). On the north side between the inlet and Picnic Point are two beaches, the first (NSW 648) lies 500 m south of Picnic Point and is a 200 m long strip of sand fronted largely by rocky reef, with the makings of a bar and rips amongst the rocks towards its southern end. This beach is backed by steep vegetated slopes rising to 60 m. The second (NSW 649), is a fringe of sand located 500 m north of the inlet.
