Short Point links up with Merimbula Point, a 2 km long point that trends to the southeast. Colourful 350 million-year-old red shales compose the points and are exposed on the southern rock platforms. Between the two points is 500 m long, east-facing Middle Beach (NSW 669); located at the foot of 30 m high vegetated bluffs, with rocks and reef outcropping along the northern and southern parts of the beach. The beach can be reached down steep tracks from street parking on the bluffs. The points and reefs lower the waves at the beach to about 1 m, which usually result in a continuous attached bar and few rips.
Beach Length: 0.7km
General Hazard Rating: 4/10
